Mambo has learnt how to tango!

This poor boy came into care as a very shut down dog. He was so lucky to pull the heart strings of a dog trainer, who has been able to help him learn how to dance and enjoy life. Now, he can wear this massive smile on his face and knows what it means to be happy!

Mambo is still incredibly shy towards new people, but once you have gained his trust, his friendship is as strong as it comes. He absolutely ADORES cuddling and couch time with his foster carer. Mambo loves his people and loves to be a shadow, following you around, happily keeping you company while you do the household chores. He also loves his toys. Mambo’s ideal life would be sitting on your lap chewing on a rope toy all afternoon. He also gives the soft toys the tick of approval! This gorgeous boy is a smiley, inquisitive and sweet cuddly teddy bear that will bring a lot of love and warmth to his new owner.

This beautiful boy is INCREDIBLY dog social and would thrive in a home with other dog(s). He plays well with the other dogs, engaging in long games of chase and tug of war. Mambo is also living with cats in his foster home. They don’t interest him in the slightest, so he is fine to share his new home with a feline friend or two.

Mambo really enjoys training! He’s very smart but still very nervous. He will require continued training to keep his confidence levels improving. Mambo is crate trained, walks on a loose leash, has amazing recall, and knows good basic commands such as sit, down, and place! Getting into the car is still something he is struggling with, but he is improving and has jumped in a few times by himself now. Once he is in the car, Mambo actually settles quite nicely. He might pop his head up to look out the window, but he will usually just curl up until we get to our destination.

As much as this boy has grown in confidence while in foster care, he still isn’t one to explore new places. Mambo will be completely happy and content with the same routine of walks or suitable outings within his comfort zone. If you are after a project and want to keep developing his confidence for new adventures, we can help show you the steps to keep help him. Once Mambo is familiar with an environment and has acclimatised, he does great and the happy bounce of enjoyment in his step will return.

This beautiful, but sensitive boy, has come so far already. With the right family, guidance and lots of love and patience Mambo will be the perfect dog! He is a great size, weighing in at 22kg at his last vet visit. We are looking for an adult only home that doesn’t have many visitors so that he feels secure. Mambo gains a lot of confidence from other dogs so it will be ideal for his new home to have friendly playful dog who can show him he way and that not everything is scary. We are looking for a home in a quiet area as he is currently thoroughly enjoying his rural foster home. Mambo is still active and does enjoy running in the paddocks to stretch his legs and going on local walkies.

Mambo’s new owners will need to be patient and understand that it won’t be all butterflies and rainbows on the first meet. However, this boy will reward the kind-hearted person who takes him on with so much love. It is truly heart warming to see his beautiful personality come out once he feels safe and secure. Mambo is the ideal dog once he trusts you and he is a pleasure to have around the home.
