Socks is all dressed up with her 4 white socks on, ready for her new home!

You just can’t help but fall in love with this pup and her joyous, full of life personality. Socks is a very affectionate puppy who loves to snuggle up with her foster carers on the couch in the evenings. She enjoys making all people her new friends as she loves getting lots of pats and cuddles. This little girl has gorgeous markings, and her coat is getting a bit scruffier each week which just adds to her cuteness. Socks loves to play – whether it be by herself, with a doggy friend, or with you – she doesn’t mind as it is all lots of fun! She is poised and ready to make the most of her life with her new family.

Socks has come from a rough start in life. She found herself surrendered to a rural facility in far western NSW very unwell. Socks was suffering from a temporary immune disorder known as puppy strangles so we rushed her to Sydney to get her the veterinary care she required. That wasn’t all that faced this little fighter though, she also had a broken leg. But not to worry as we fixed her all up and she will have not ongoing effects to her health. Socks would benefit from being on a joint supplement throughout her life to support her growth and body through all the fun she will get up to in her life.

While in foster care, Socks has been in care with another dog and cats. She loves her doggy foster sibling, and they play so beautifully together. Socks is the rumble queen and loves to play bitey face games. She also enjoys meeting other dogs out and about that she can play with. Socks will need ongoing socialisation with other dogs throughout her development, preferably in the form of playdates with other known friendly dogs. She is expected to be a larger medium size when fully grown and will be a moderately active dog who will require daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her healthy and happy.

Miss Socks is a smart cookie. She picks up simple commands quickly like sit and she is food motivated. Socks is learning to walk nicely on the lead and working on her recall skills. Being a pup still, Socks still has plenty to learn so her new owners will need to continue her training and exposure to the big wide world. At home, she is progressing well with her toilet training, and she is doing well with her crate training. She sleeps in her crate overnight and is learning to take naps there during the day as well. Socks travels well in the car and loves to tag along to new places with her foster carers.

We are looking for a dog experienced home for Socks where she will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. She will need a home with another friendly adult dog who is already fully trained and ready to be a good role model for her. Socks can also be an only dog but will require someone home most of the time, particularly while she is settling in. While in foster care, she has been living with cats which spark her curiosity and whom she would love to play with. She would be fine to live with a feline friend who is dog savvy and an owner who is happy to continue her education on how to be gentle with the cat. Socks is suitable to live with dog savvy children who are comfortable with all the general behaviours that come with a puppy.

Gorgeous Socks is bound to bring a flood of laughter, happiness and fun to her new owners. If you would like that to be you, then you need to head to the Fetching Dogs website to complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members and the type of lifestyle you can offer Socks.
