Are you ready to fall in love? Because Poker is simply adorable, and you are about to fall head over heels for him!

Poker has the most gorgeous floppy ears and a smooth, silky black coat that gives him an air of elegance despite his still gangly puppy legs. He has a way of just looking straight into your soul and drawing you in with his beautiful puppy dog eyes. We believe Poker is some form of Dane mix but crossed with something smaller. He is currently 15kg in size and obviously has more growing to do but we don’t expect him to be a giant. Poker has that more chilled and laid-back nature about him most of the time and he loves a good cuddle session on the couch with his foster carers or the other dogs. He is an affectionate puppy who loves to get attention and pats and we are sure he’ll be disappointed when one day he doesn’t fit in your lap anymore!

Poker enjoys have a play and particularly likes to have a rumble with is doggy friends. He is social with other dogs and also enjoys a game of chasies. Poker is very adaptable in his play style with other dogs and will adjust depending on the size and preference of whom he is playing with. When he is playing you really see his cheeky character come out and his uncoordinated bouncing makes you laugh. Being a young pup, Poker will need ongoing socialisation with other friendly dogs so it would be great for his new owners to have a network of friends with dogs that he can have regular playdates with and go on pack walks with.

While in foster care, Poker has been brushing up all his basic training. He is food motivated and a fast learner. Poker knows how to sit and drop and is walking nicely on the lead with encouragement. He has come from a pound in far western NSW so a lot of things in Sydney are new to him. Poker will need an owner(s) willing to continue his gentle exposure to new environments, sights and sounds as he would love to continue to accompany his people out and about to lots of interesting places. At home, he is progressing well with his toilet training and is using the doggy door to get outside. He is also crate trained where he will nap quietly and sleep throughout the night. Poker travels well in the car and is learning that it is often associated with going somewhere interesting and fun.

We are looking for a dog experienced home for Poker where he will be a loved member of the family and have owner(s) who will get the absolute best out of this gorgeous boy. He should go to a home with another medium to large friendly adult dog who would be willing to have some playtime with him, but who is also fully trained up and ready to be a great role model for him as well. Poker would do best with owners who are home more often than not, particularly during his settling in period, and who want to include him in their daily activities/outings. He should be allowed inside the home to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night.

Poker will need a good quality diet to support his continued growth and development. He would be suitable to a home with children who have experience with large dogs and would not be put off by a clumsy oversized puppy running around. Poker is young enough to be integrated with other types of pets with appropriate training and guidance. This playful pup also requests a nice selection of toys in his new home as he enjoys playing with them. Poker is a really beautiful puppy who is going to make a wonderful addition to his new home.

Additional information: This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing.
