Our beautiful scruffy girl Pip is ready to find her forever family. She is a seriously special girl and her foster carers have said she will only be going to the absolute best home as they love her so much.
Pip arrived to us from a rural NSW pound with two of her brothers. She arrived completely unhandled and would run away from human contact and scream if scared. However, with love and guidance this girl has turned the corner and has grown into a playful, cheeky and very affectionate little puppy.
This girl is wonderfully dog social. She has met and lived with many dogs of many sizes from teeny tiny chihuahas to a big mastiff and everything in between. She obviously gravitates towards the smaller dogs as they are more her size for play and chase, but she was equally happy to snuggle up to the mastiff at rest time. Pip gets a lot of confidence and guidance from other dogs so we will be looking to rehome her with at least one other dog to help her transition go smoothly. We will be preferencing smaller, confident dogs, but would also be happy to rehome her with larger dogs who are a good match with her small size. Pip will need continued socialisation with other dogs, preferably in the form of pack walks and playtime with other known and friendly dogs.
Pip is a very smart little girl and enjoys learning new things. She loves to engage with her people and so training is lots of fun. She is learning her basic training and how to walk on a leash as collars and leashes were a very foreign idea to this girl! She is pretty much toilet trained as long as her carers are diligent with taking her out and not allowing her too much free rein inside when unsupervised. She sleeps through the night and travels well in the car. Her foster carer is a vet, so she’s even been getting lots of good exposure to vet clinics and handling. Her new owners will need to be prepared to put in lots of continued training to ensure she grows up into a well-balanced adult dog.
Due to her young age, Pip will need a home with people home most of the time. She will need very good fencing as she is so small and be fed a good quality diet. As she came into care very underexposed to life, we will only be looking for doggy experienced handlers who have experience with working with rescue dogs. She is a very playful and active girl, so a home that can provide her with lots of daily exercise, adventure and mental stimulation is a must- this girl is NOT a lapdog!
As we have no history on her prior to entering the pound, we are unsure of her breed makeup but looking at the litter it is evident they are small breed mixes, however one of the siblings has cattle dog markings on his legs so any potential homes will need to have experience with dogs that are higher drive than a lot of little breeds are. That being said, she is an absolute dream to have around and provides her foster parents with days filled with laughter and so much love.
If you would like to make this perfect, scruffy girl a member of your family and continue her education to becoming a lovely adult canine, then please fill out a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on our website. Please include as much detail as you can about your current lifestyle, previous dog experience and the fun adventures you can offer Pip as the coordinator handling her applications is very time poor and will only have time to call a few of the best sounding applications to take to the interview stage.
Additional information: This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
