Nara is the sweetest little girl who is extremely loving. She loves nothing more than to be petted and cuddled by her people and you see her go into a state of total relaxation and bliss. Nara found herself in a pound in far western NSW with her life on the edge just before Christmas, so she is probably very grateful to be in a loving foster home now where she gets to be a happy puppy. This girl has stunning markings and very pretty eyes that just make you melt. Nara is very friendly with all people that she meets out and about and is willing to say hi and get attention from anyone willing to give it. At 8 months of age, she is still an energetic girl; however, she quickly trades running around the yard with a spot on the couch when playtime is over. It seems she has a nice balance between being active and being chilled out.
Nara is not just friendly with people, but she also loves other dogs. She is currently in care with a range of other dogs, and she loves going to the dog park. Nara enjoys running around playing chasing games or tug games with her doggy friends, but when it is all over, she also enjoys snuggling alongside them too. In her new home, Nara should be given the opportunity to regularly socialise and play with other friendly dogs. Ideally, her new owners will have a network of friends with dogs she can have playdates with or go on pack walks with. Nara is expected to remain a medium sized dog when fully grown (currently she is about 15kg) and she will need daily exercise and mental stimulation throughout her life to keep her healthy and happy.
Nara didn’t seem to know how to live as a loved pet when she came into foster care; however, she is coming along in leaps and bounds. She knows how to sit for her dinner or a treat and learning to walk on a lead. Nara is crate trained and sleep happily in her crate throughout the night without a peep and even retreats there during the day for a nap by herself. She is toilet trained and not scared of thunder or the vacuum cleaner but does need to build confidence getting into the car. She is gradually improving as she learns it takes her fun places. Nara will need a new owner(s) who is willing to continue her training so that she can continue on the path to becoming a great adult canine citizen. Having come from the country, she will need gentle exposure to new sights and sounds and would benefit from a home in a more relaxed environment as she is likely to make faster progress.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Nara where she will be a loved member of the family and developed to be able to enjoy all the fun things that life has to offer. We are looking to rehome her as an only dog with owner(s) home more often than not and who can take her out and about to socialise and play with other dogs. She would be a wonderful work from home companion who could get you out and about during your break times for some fun. Nara should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.
In her foster home, Nara is living with an elderly cat, and they have been caught snuggling on the couch together! She will follow the cat around, curious as to what it is up to but does not harass it at all so would be ok to live with a dog friendly cat in her new home. Nara is friendly with kids out and about but we would like to see her go to an adult only home for now where she can be the centre of attention. There is no reason she cannot live with other types of pets with the appropriate training and guidance. Nara really has a beautiful heart and will make a very loving companion to her new owner(s).
