It’s time for our resident gentle giant to find his forever home! Mars is a big and goofy cuddle bug and loves nothing more than a snuggle on the couch with his people. He is 50kg of pure joy and his photos really don’t show just how handsome this boy truly is!
Mars came to us from rural NSW and slotted into his foster home famously. He is extremely well mannered in the house and is just a delight to have around. His basic training is coming along well and he loves to learn new things. He is treat motivated which makes training a breeze. He is toilet trained and sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep. He travels well in the car and isn’t destructive or noisy.
Mars is currently in care with a family with older children and another dog. He is fantastic with children and would make a great family dog as long as the children in the family don’t mind occasionally being bumped into as he is a big boy ! He enjoys a good play with his doggy foster sibling, but is also equally happy to lounge around with the other dog too. He would do well with another dog in his home that is at least of medium size to ensure he can have a bit of a play, but he could do well as an only dog as long as his owners were home more often than not to provide adequate companionship.
This boy loves getting out and about! Although he is not high energy, he will require a daily outing to fulfil his needs. He is generally really good on leash, although he can be a little over excited when leaving the house but calms down quickly. He sometimes pulls towards other dogs on walks if he wants to say hello or have a play, so his new owner should continue his leash work skills. He has been great with the dogs he has met out and about and would love some opportunities to play with some other known and friendly dogs. He would enjoy a family who will take him on some fun adventures, but a nice walk daily will keep him content.
Mars is looking for a home with a yard as he does enjoy having a play and lying in the sun. He must be allowed inside as part of the family and be provided a warm bed to sleep on inside in the evening. It would be highly recommended he is started on joint supplements as a preventative due to his size and be provided a good quality diet. He enjoys a warm bath and being dried off and loves nothing more than a snuggle on the lounge watching some tv.
This boy is seriously the whole package ! He’s got enough stamina to enjoy heading out and about on adventures, but lazy enough to spend the rest of the day snoozing away. He hasn’t put a foot wrong in care and is going to make an amazing dog for one lucky family.
