Meet our goofy and beautiful boy Goose!

Goose is an amazing puppy who sucks everyone in that meets him. There is literally not a single person who has met this puppy who has not instantly fallen in love with him and his amazing, happy personality. Are you next?

He is a super affectionate pup who loves cuddles and being petted. Lounging on the couch with his foster family or doggie friends is one of his favourite things. Goose is an extremely social dog with everyone that he meets, including kids – in fact they are his favourite! He loves his people and can often be seen following you around, relaxing by your feet or lying on top of you! Goose is a playful puppy who enjoys playing with his toys. This boy seems to really like water! Goose enjoys frolicking around in the water at the beach, lying in the dam water and even splashing in the big outside water bowl!

Goose has been in foster care with two other large breed dogs who he is good friends with. He has a gentle and more submissive nature with his doggy friends, happy for them to take the lead and show him the ropes. Goose enjoys playing tug of war with his foster brother and snuggling up beside the other dogs for a nap. This social boy has been friendly with every dog he has met, both at the rural pound he was in and each one he has met when out walking with his foster family. We suspect that Goose is part Dane as he is already 27kg and is expected to grow to a large size.

It is imperative that Goose goes to a home with another friendly dog who is able to show him the ropes. You may have guessed from his mostly white colouring that he has minimal hearing and lacks some peripheral vision. The great thing is that he is not completely deaf and can see quite well; however, he does take visual cues from the other dogs, following them around and learning from them. Goose’s training does not need to be much different to a normal dog, except for sometimes needing to get his attention by being in front of him and ensuring that hand cues are clear. He has been responding really well to training in his foster home.

Goose is toilet trained and crate trained where he sleeps throughout the night without a peep. He will even pop off to his crate for a nap during the day if the door is open. Goose travels very well in the car and loves to get out and about in the world. He is confident and happy to go to new places, particularly if it involves being able to meet new friends. Goose’s foster carers say that he is the most placid and well-behaved puppy that they have every had. A true testament to how wonderful this beautiful boy is.

We are looking for a dog experienced home for Goose who are willing to make him a loved and included member of their family. He will need a good diet to support his growth and good training that includes a focus on engagement to ensure that he continues to be a well-behaved canine citizen that can go out and about anywhere with you. Goose should be allowed inside the home to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.

Goose is more than suitable for a home with children who are confident with large breed dogs. He is currently in foster care with younger children who he absolutely adores (the love is mutual!). Goose does love his people but currently lives with shift workers and a busy family coming and going. He has shown that he is no problem to be left at home with the other dogs when the people are out.

If you would like to make this wonderful puppy a part of your life, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members (including the furry ones!) and the type of lifestyle Goose would have with you.

Additional information: This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
